Tisch School of the Arts Asia graduate film student Taofik Kolade talks about his film The Binding of Ishmael on KPSP Local 2 News. The Binding of Ishmael is one of eight films from Tisch Asia alumni, students, and faculty that were selected for competition at the Palm Springs International ShortFest taking place June 21 – 27, 2011.

Based on a true story, the film is about Muslim “honor killings,” focusing on a father and son who have set out to kill a family member because of his sexual orientation. The film, which came out of an assignment for graduate film students, was shot in Singapore.
