The US Embassy hosted an exclusive screening of The Help at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia on October 6, 2011.
The audience that evening comprised guests of the Embassy, students and faculty members of Tisch Asia. The evening started with light refreshments. Guests of the US Embassy, students and faculty members mingled before the movie screening.
President of Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Pari Sara Shirazi and Ambassaor Adelman gave their welcome remarks before the screening.
The Help is a film about an aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s who decides to write a book detailing the African American Maid’s point of view on the White families they work for, and their hardships they go through on a day-to-day basis. A stirring film that invokes one’s emotions, many left the screening room in tears.
