Haresh Sharma’s Gemuk Girls played to a full house on October 30, 2011 at The Goldberg Theater, NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Benefactor, Mrs. Rita Goldberg graced the play with her presence. Among those in attendance were Artistic Director of the Lark Play Development Center and Lloyd Suh of the Ma-Yi Theater. Faculty members, students of NYU Tisch and also members of the general public formed up the rest of those who attended.
Many were thrilled by and reacted enthusiastically to the Singaporean-made play. In addition, Haresh Sharma’s six-session playwriting workshop has been exceptionally popular with the students.
