The Department of Dramatic Writing put up its fourth annual winter festival of new work in December 2011. Presented over two nights, Blink of an Eye featured twenty plays written and directed by 1st Year Students.

Erik Champney, playwright of "If You Don't Care", gives notes to Wendy Hammond and Steven Koernig in rehearsal.
In their first semester at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, all Dramatic Writing students participate in Drama Lab. In this course, writers are asked to participate in a variety of roles: as playwrights, stage directors, and theatre producers. Through working collaboratively with actors and classmates, students become stronger writers and all-around creative artists. At the end of the semester, one scene by each student is selected to go up in a staged reading – with full lights and sound – before a public audience in the Black Box Theatre.
Over the years, the event has turned into a favorite at Tisch School of the Arts Asia, with members of the Singapore arts community joining Tisch students and faculty in packing the theatre. Students from other departments are in attendance, and the winter festival has regularly led to collaborations between filmmaking, animation, and writing students.
Selected videos from Blink of an Eye will be available on the Dramatic Writing portfolio in January.
