Producers Deliver First Thesis Presentations

As the fall semester draws to a close, the first graduating class of New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia’s International Media Producing program presented a platform of innovative content as part of their thesis reviews.  Bhavna Shivayogimath pitched a a web-series about home cooking while  Brett Joffe developed short form content distribution. Ty Lawson pitched a short film about a controversial subject with a personal impact, and Tong Kaljaruek created a graphic novel animated television series based on a popular Thai horror drama while Gaopeng Sun launched an online site for showcasing content created by Tisch Asia students.

The producers are now heading into their last semester at Tisch School of the Arts Asia and preparing their exit strategies.  In the spring, each of  must develop a project  that could launch their careers.  Since the start of this program, these students have taken a variety of creative producing courses at Tisch School of the Arts Asia, MBA courses at Singapore Management University, worked in various aspects of theatre production with the Singapore Repertory Theatre’s, honed their legal knowledge with law courses taught by leading media law experts, and produced short films/documentaries throughout Asia.  By the close of their education, the inaugural producers will be  ready to take flight around the globe.
