Hosted by Mishal Husain, one of BBC’s most experienced and respected presenters, the program features one-on-one interviews with six of Asia’s most prominent opinion formers and personalities from business, the arts, politics and sports.  The personalities that will appear on the program are Mazlan Othman, Bernard Harrison, Eric Khoo, Sana Mir, Li Cunxin and Chin Han.

All departments at Tisch Asia are involved in the production. Dramatic Writing students have been researching the guests, Film Students will be operating cameras and sound and IMP students will be Producing, Floor Managing, and Art Directing. Two graduates of the ANDA program are providing graphics for the introduction sections of the show. It is a full on professional collaboration that is just the beginning of an ongoing relationship with the BBC and Make World Media.

Producer Sarah MacDonald of Make World Media recently gave students a masterclass in investigative journalism where she spoke about her award winning work for the BBC. In 2000, Sarah began a seven month undercover investigation into familial child abuse in Liverpool which involved putting secret cameras on a victim to entrap her abusers. As a result of the film, three men were jailed for a total of 90 years. She followed this up with three films investigating child abuse and the Catholic Church which resulted in the resignation of an Irish Bishop and an Irish 2 Government inquiry. Most recently Sarah went undercover in “The Cancer Cell” to expose the bogus cancer clinics in Tijuana, Mexico for Al Jazeera.
