The newest children’s book by bestselling author Adeline Foo ’11 (MFA, Kanbar, Dramatic Writing) is now available as an e-book. Entitled Thomas Titans: Men Among Boys, the book is the first in a new series that is based on a screenplay that Adeline wrote while studying at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia.
Even before she started pursuing her MFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Adeline was a national bestselling writer of children’s books. The Diary of Amos Lee, published in 2009, made the Straits Times’ National Best Sellers’ List for more than 55 weeks. I Sit, I Write, I Flush!, the first book in the series, also won the inaugural Red Dot award given by the International Schools Libraries Network, a children’s choice award.
The Diary of Amos Lee has been made into a television program for which Adeline collaborated with fellow alumni from the Dramatic Writing Department and the Animation and Digital Arts Department of NYU Tisch Asia.
Thomas Titans: Men Among Boys is about Ayush, an Indian-Chinese street kid who gets accepted into one of Singapore’s oldest and most prestigious boys’ schools, where he hopes he can start life afresh without anyone knowing his shady past. He quickly makes two new friends, Lasso and Ariel, but Lasso has something Ayush doesn’t… a father.
Ayush unwittingly gets his two friends involved with gangsters when his past catches up to him. Will Ayush find a way to free himself from the gang – and will he overcome his jealousy to save Lasso and Ariel?
