The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, an Academy Award qualifying festival and Asia’s biggest short film festival, awarded the Grand Prix award to Atsuko Hirayanagi ’12 (MFA, Kanbar, Film) for her film Mo Ikkai.
Hirayanagi is the first female director from Japan to win the top prize in the festival’s 14-year history. This win qualifies Hirayanagi’s film to be eligible for nomination for the upcoming Academy Awards in the short film category.
