Writer/Producer, Tyler Projects
Leonard Mah graduated with a double major in Biological Sciences and English Literature. This didn’t stop him from writing, filming or storytelling as he went on to New York to make short films under the auspices of NYU. He has since written for short films, feature films, television, animation, games, and comics. He started out as a staff writer for Scrawl Studios, and eventually moved on to head write one season, as well as develop and conceptualise new IP to be sold to the market. He has freelanced for various other projects, has one feature film script optioned in New York. He currently works for Tyler Projects, as a writer and game-designer and is about to release a comic at the end of the year. He’s a big fan of pulp fiction, (not the Tarantino film) and will be speaking on the value of iconic pulp characters and the use of them in modern fiction.

The Next Reel International Film Festival at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts has become a premier film festival showcasing the work of the best young filmmakers around the world, and it is the oldest festival of its kind in the United States.
The festival has been held in New York, Florence, and Singapore.
This year, Next Reel returns to Singapore and will be held January 31-February 6, 2010.

Yong Jin’s Bio:
Born in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia, Jin has been working in the game industry since his intern years back in 2001. He graduated from the University of Multimedia (MMU) in Cyberjaya Malaysia with a degree in Film and Animation. During his stint at Gamebrains, he worked with an independent film scene in Malaysia, garnering two awards for a short film, The Coffeeshop. After leaving Gamebrains, Jin and two other colleagues started a small indie game company called Big Bad Robots to create their own games. Partially government funded, they poured their heart and soul into the company for two years, making games and also helping young start-up game companies create their own I.P. After the 2 amazing years, Jin finally came to Singapore and joined Ubisoft Singapore as a senior artist and is currently part of the Assassin’s Creed 2 production team.

Basil Mironer, Tisch School of the Arts Asia M.F.A. Film ’10, has won the Sonje Award at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival for his film Rare Fish. The award is given to the best Korean and Asian short films in Wide Angle section, to assist in producing another masterpiece by providing KRW 10,000,000 (approximately USD 8,580) to the winning director.

The flat screen display located on the 4th floor at Tisch Asia is part of a collaboration between the Animation and Digital Arts MFA Program and the Streaming Museum, a new hybrid museum presenting exhibitions in cyberspace and public space on seven continents. The exhibitions are presented on dedicated screens in public spaces (35 and growing), as well as several websites. Animations, installations and other digital projects created by our students will be featured on the display.
The creator and curator of the Streaming Museum is Nina Colosi. She also serves as curator for the Chelsea Art Museum in New York City. Nina curates visual and performing arts exhibitions with work by leading and emerging artists and also showcases outstanding educational programs and students.

Jean-Charles’s Bio:
Jean-Charles Gaudechon is a Producer for Electronic Arts (EA) in Asia. He is in charge of leading the vision and development of major EA game titles and is currently based in the Singapore EA studio. Jean-Charles worked in North America as a producer on leading franchises such as FIFA, NEED FOR SPEED and also on numerous EA IPs. With over 7 years experience as a producer in the interactive gaming industry, Jean-Charles has garnered a track record of creating first class video games.
